1.
I am the man who catches lightning in a bottle, I've been setting the bar for lowered expectations, I am the savior sent to bring good news, I am the anchor. We're the ringing in your head, The favorite souvenir, The oh so cavalier best friend you always feared I have said this before, I'm getting all to humble, My arrogance a facade to cover my intentions, I am anger personified, I am calm denied.
2.
Ego 03:14
And I am an out of control ego, God only knows where we go. We have been here before, it's sad, be careful what you care for. Whoa. I guess it's easier to sing, and get caught up in the moment Than it is to maintain these feelings. Paint my own image in your likeness, bleed me dry and promise not to feel it.
3.
So the air is thick and lonely with the promises you made This was our biggest shot. The people here are all desperate for something To take their mind off their lives. And it makes me wonder how sick you really are When you can still steal a life from a girl She wanted nothing more than just to trust you Just to love you. And I guess I should have known It was too good to be true But I guess I still want to believe people That people can follow through Who the hell are we to judge someone like you? Just the man in the club selling poison we all cling to. Here in crafting a tale does he know How this will all come crashing down around his head in the end. We all know what you are, We've seen what a snake you've been all along. So try and buy your way out of this mess And try coming out on top I'm sure we'll see you again As a front page story of a liar and a thief that we know.
